In response to the globalized knowledge economy, one of the profound and transformational changes occurring in the contemporary colleges and universities is internationalization. This institutional change requires higher education administrative leaders, staff, and faculty to have a comprehensive understanding of this phenomenon along with well-articulated skills, knowledge and dispositions to improve the institutional capacity for internationalization. To meet this need, KSU Higher Education Administration and Student Personnel program offers a professional certificate program: “Internationalization of Higher Education.”
For individuals who are interested in learning about internationalization of higher education to strengthen his or her teaching, administrative leadership, or employability in the areas of international affairs in colleges and university settings, this professional certificate program will serve their needs and purposes. This 15-credit hour certificate, which includes an internship experience, can be completed as a stand-alone program or as a complement to another degree program. For instance, students who are enrolled in the KSU Higher Education Administration and Student Personnel program (Master or Ph.D. degree programs) can earn the certificate concurrently with the completion of their degree.
