State of Ohio Fingerprinting
Where:
The IRC (221 White Hall)
When:
Anytime during operating hours
Fee:
The cost is $25.00 and can be paid with cash, check, or money order made payable to: IRC@KSU.
Bring:
Current state-issued identification (driver's license or identification card), payment, and the address that you need the results sent.
The BCI&I will usually complete an Ohio criminal background check within 48 hours. The results will be mailed to the address you give at the time of fingerprinting in approximately 2-4 weeks. This is your only official copy of your results. The IRC does not have access to your results. You can obtain additional official copies for a fee from BCI&I by calling 740-845-2000.
Federal Fingerprinting

The cost is $30.00 and can be paid with cash, check, or money order made payable to: IRC@KSU.
Bring:
Current state-issued identification (driver's license or identification card), payment, and the address that you need the results sent.
The BCI&I will usually complete a federal criminal background check within 48 hours. The results will be mailed to the address you give at the time of fingerprinting in approximately 4-6 weeks. This is your only official copy of your results. The IRC does not have access to your results. If you have any questions regarding your fingerprints please call BCI&I at 740-845-2000.
Ink Fingerprinting
The FBI now requires that in order for you to be ink finger printed you must meet one of the following specified purposes:
- Applicants home address is 75 miles or more from the nearest WebCheck location.
- Amputations or missing digits
- Out-of-state applicant
- Poor quality prints (Not able to capture prints electronically)
If you fulfill one or more of the above criteria we can provide the ink and instruction. Then you take the card with you and mail it to the appropriate place as your potential employer or immigration needs. There is no fee for this process of simply borrowing our fingerprinting ink.
